Our homes have become a focus like never before in this pandemic. We’re all spending so much more time at home, whether it’s for work, leisure time or just observing the restrictions designed to keep us safe and healthy.

But for many women around the world, home can be a place of fear and danger, especially right now as they experience a “shadow pandemic” of increased domestic abuse and violence.

This week, President Steenkamp is remembering the 14 women killed at l’École Polytechnique in Montréal 31 years ago.
