Your commercial kitchen’s ventilation system plays a critical role in your establishment’s ability to handle the many different types of exhaust your kitchen will emit on the typical day. A lot is riding on your rooftop ventilators, so they better be ready to go to work.
The two most common ventilation systems are Upblast Exhaust Fans and Downblast Exhaust Fans. While both pull air up and out of your establishment, Downblast Exhaust Fans then force the air flow down, toward the roof. For that reason, Downblast Exhaust Fans cannot be used for grease applications - they are for general ventilation uses only.
Upblast Exhaust Fans, on the other hand, differ by taking the air from your commercial kitchen ventilation system and blowing up and away from your roof, making them perfect for grease ventilation applications.
So, you depend on them to work - but what does your exhaust fan depend on?
As the vast majority of rooftop ventilation systems are designed to be installed atop a factory built or prefabricated roof mounting curb, your ventilation system depends on your Exhaust Fan Curb to keep your unit running securely. Rather than sitting directly on your roof, the Exhaust Fan Curb produces a brace for your unit so that it sits above your roof. Exhaust Fan Curbs ensures that vibrations and other effects of your fan’s operation don’t damage your roof or your fan.
Most often, roof curbs are designed to accompany your ventilation fan, so, in these cases, proper sizing isn’t an issue. But what do you do when your fan’s base differs form the curb on which it is to sit? In cases such as these, Exhaust Fan Curb Adaptors provide a solution.
When the fan is a different size than your fan curb, an Exhaust Fan Curb Adaptor will ensure the two items connect in a way that allows them to work together. Optional Hinge Kits allow the fan to be tilted for easier cleaning and inspection.
It should be noted that, because Exhaust Fan Curbs are custom products, they cannot returned or exchanged for other items. It is imperative that you measure carefully lest you order a product that fails meet your needs.
