Some Black Rat snakes from this area of South Carolina will keep their juvenile pattern as an adult. Usually they start turning black at this stage. Least in New York they do. I have found a few nice specimens from this area in South Carolina. This is a perfect example of one. This spot is huge and doubt I'll ever see him again but you never know.
