This week we have Esther Rose, Nick Shoulders & Willi Carlisle!
Esther Rose:
You can think of Esther Rose’s warm, hopeful country songs like points on a map. The New Orleans singer-songwriter takes pleasure in guiding you through colorful landmarks—especially those throughout her hometown—but she also makes time for smaller, quieter spots: say, the bar where a relationship turned sour, or the dreary high school where she and her sister begrudgingly drove each morning. Recorded direct-to-tape and accentuated with lap steel and fiddle, her songs pull you in like this; she wants you to see the scenery, learn the history, and feel at home before she sends you on your way.
Nick Shoulders:
Here to put the "Try" in country: Wielding a warble and whistle crafted from a lifetime chasing lizards through the Ozark hills, Nick combines his family's deep ties to southern traditional music with years singing to empty street corners to create this hybridized form of raucous country music: born of some dark holler and bred to be sweated out and stomped into the New Orleans dancefloors it now calls home.
Willi Carlisle:
Willi Carlisle is folksinger and artist based in Arkansas. With years of collecting folklore, playing or calling square dances, and tirelessly touring fringe, honky-tonk, and house-concert circuits, Willi Carlisle is a multi-faceted writer, performer, and instrumentalist performing internationally.
With a style forged in the fire of Ozark old-time music and his ever-growing collection of antique music, Carlisle’s musical stories hoot, stomp, and saunter through joys and troubles uniquely southern and timelessly true. Equally comfortable on banjo, fiddle, and guitar, Carlisle has earned accolades for his versatility with performances at the Ozark Folk Center, AmericanaFest, the Fayetteville Roots Festival, Thacker Mountain Radio, Westport Roots Festival, and Fringe Festivals across the country.
Weekly Live Sessions with artists from around the nation / globe / mars pending.
We’ve been feeling a bit cooped up. We know that keeping our distance from one another is important but, man, it’s been hard! The Cabin Fever Sessions are here make the grass feel a little greener, and the sun a little brighter.
