Motorcycle lane filtering is legal in Utah under certain circumstances.
Drivers should expect to see motorcyclists engaging in this behavior and keep an eye out for riders.
***Lane filtering is when a motorcyclist travels between lanes of stopped traffic. A motorcyclist may use lane filtering when (1) the road has two or more lanes in the same direction with a posted speed limit no greater than 45 mph (2) traffic is completely stopped and (3) the motorcyclist does not exceed 15 mph
