The Gibson SJ-200 Studio acoustic-electric guitar has the iconic Super Jumbo body and rich, warm and luscious tone of the guitar considered “King of the Flat-tops” ever since its debut in 1937. The Studio model offers expanded versatility with an onboard L.R. Baggs Element Bronze under-saddle piezo pickup that lets you plug-in onstage, as well as blend miked and direct signals for recording.
“Holding a guitar is the epicenter of creating music for me,” says singer/songwriter Abraham Alexander. “When I hold a guitar, what I’m looking for is its resonance, as well as the feel of its neck and action. I’m looking for it to have a conversation with me, because there are millions of guitars out there, but you want to find that one guitar you can converse with. The Gibson SJ-200 has all of those elements and even more.”
The Gibson SJ-200 Studio is built by hand from Sitka spruce and either rosewood or walnut—depending on which model you prefer. Both versions also include a comfy Advanced Response profile utile (an African hardwood) neck, a rosewood or walnut fingerboard and a satin finish.
