Glass artist Kait Rhoads received the commission to install 3 large glass jellyfish chandeliers at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington. Artist Walter Lieberman draws a rendering of the jellyfish in chalk. Artists Gabe Feenan, Ellye, Jack and Johannes create ridged glass tubing for the tentacles. Artist Kristin Elliott cuts the tubing into small segments on a diamond saw. Head jellyfish biologist Chad Widmer describes the taxonomy of the jellyfish.
