IS IT BASICALLY A GRILLED CHEESE HAMBURGER MAYBE ITS MORE THAN THAT I DONT KNOW I JUST KNOW THE BACON ONION JAM IS FIRE THIS IS THE BURGER PATTY MELT COOKIN' SOMETHIN'
BURGER PATTY MELT INGREDIENTS
½ lb Butter
1 pk Bacon, chopped
8 Onions, chopped
½ Coke Can
½ cup Red Wine Vinegar
1-2lb Ground Beef
Whole Grain Bread
Salt
Pepper
Sharp Cheddar, shredded
Swiss Cheese
COOKING METHOD:
1. In a large pot, add and melt butter over medium heat. As the butter melts, add in chopped bacon. Let that render and crisp up.
2. Thinly slice the onions. Add half the sliced onions to the pot once the butter is melted, bacon is crisped and fond has developed on the bottom. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
3. Once mixed together, add the rest of the onions with a pinch of salt. Mix to combine.
4. As it begins to reduce, add in a splash of water and mix and stir while it begins to caramelize. Once it begins to bubble up, add in the cola and red wine vinegar then let reduce and caramelize, stirring occasionally until thickened and ready to use.
5. Form the ground beef into 6oz balls and flatten using a ziplock bag and sheet tray. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Heat the pan until hot. Add burger patties to the pan and sear both sides making sure not to fully cook through. Once the patties are seared, place them to the side.
7. Butter both slices of bread and toast in melted butter until golden brown.
8. On a sheet pan, add swiss cheese and sharp cheddar to the bottom slice of bread topped with the burger patty, bacon onion jam, more cheese, and top slice of bread.
Place in a 500F oven until the cheese is completely melted then cut and serve.
