For the first time, NATO's rookie Finland hosted the bloc's joint exercise.
Nearly 1,000 allied forces from the US, Britain and Norway, and also from Sweden, NATO's active applicant, joined some 6,500 Finnish troops.
Involving some 1,000 vehicles, the exercises run from May 27 to June 2.
Sweden and Finland last year ditched long-held policies of military non-alignment, seeking to join the US-led NATO, a move that both claimed was pressured by Ukraine Crisis.
