In this time of lockdowns across the world and isolation due to COVID 19, when we are all stuck at home, when millions of people are starving, suffering and dying, let this song break all our chains of racism and unite us as humans.
This is a humble tribute to the legendary Narayan Gopal Sir from Nepal and Kali Dasgupta, one of the greatest underrated folk legends from Bengal. Mohani is perhaps one the most popular songs sung and performed by folk, pop and street artists across Nepal, Sikkim, Darjeeling, Bhutan and all Nepali speaking communities across the globe. Chol mini is a song about oppression and hunger imposed on the tea garden workers of North Bengal and Assam during the colonial rule. This is an attempt to take these songs to people across the world, so that children of tomorrow can hum these songs through generations. These two songs together is actually the result of a live jam with an intention of uniting the musical worlds organically and we absolutely have no wish or ability to go anywhere near the original, because we ourselves know it is impossible to reproduce such brilliance.

My heartiest love and gratitude to Benoy Moktan and Anil Tamang along with everyone from Maneybhanjyang, a beautiful village on the border of West Bengal and Nepal, and every one from the Singalila Trek area for their admiration and support. I embrace every listener from Nepal, my thousands of brothers and sisters who have constantly shown their love and have supported my music.
Stay safe. Let's come together as a human race beyond the borders of colour, race and judgements.
