Ovarian cancer is usually detected in the advanced stage. We can suspect anything in a post-menopausal women, in the 5th , 6th decade when the ultrasound shows any ovarian lump. This should be suspicious and should go for a blood test called as the Tumour Markers. There are various Tumour Markers available. If the Tumour Markers are elevated then we strongly suspect malignancy, then we have to do a Doppler study with ultrasound, or a CT, MRI.
