Gamma Ray – with no doubt one of the most important contemporary names of classic heavy metal and THE most respected and influential German band in the genre.

Founded and fronted by Kai Hansen after his departure from Helloween, Gamma Ray became one of the most prominent bands in the European heavy metal scene. Along with the likes of Helloween, Blind Guardian, Primal Fear and Running Wild, Gamma Ray forms the core of the European power metal movement. With the 1995 concept album “Land Of The Free”, Gamma Ray became internationally-known, touring with bands like Iron Maiden, Hammerfall and Stratovarius all over the place.
