In this presentation at the Eighth Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), Paul-Jean Le Cannu, ICSID Team Leader and Legal Counsel, addresses a number of issues related to corruption in the context of ICSID arbitration. The presentation contributed to a session that explored the relevance of UNCAC in investor-state dispute settlement, given the Convention has been increasingly referred to in bilateral investment treaties (BITs) as a standard to which parties to BITs shall adhere.
