Dr. John “Mike” Borky, a previous Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (Rome, NY) Commander and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) expert, held a one hour overview of both MBSE and the Model-Based System Architecture Process (MBSAP) that he developed.
MBSE is the formalized application of modeling to support system requirements, design, analysis, verification and validation activities beginning in the conceptual design phase and continuing throughout development and later life cycle phases. MBSE is a core component of Digital Engineering and Digital Transformation to move us past paper-based requirements and PowerPoint architecture designs.
