This Post-Show Talk features Artistic Director Janet Eilber and dancers Lloyd Knight and Anne O'Donnell in conversation with Jacob's Pillow Scholar-in-Residence Debra Cash. The Talk took place on August 16, 2019 following a performance by the Martha Graham Dance Company at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, MA.
Post-Show Talks are held at Jacob's Pillow on Fridays in the Ted Shawn Theatre and Thursdays in the Doris Duke Theatre and offer an opportunity for audiences to gain more insight into performances directly from the artists themselves.
The preceding performance featured two works by Martha Graham, "Appalachian Spring" (1944) and "Chronicle" (1936), as well as "Deo" (2019) by Maxine Doyle & Bobbi Jene Smith, and three "Lamentation Variations" by Liz Gerring, Michelle Dorrance, and Aszure Barton.
These videos are part of Seeing Dance, Talking Dance, a project of Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, encouraging different ways of seeing, discussing, and appreciating dance. This program was created with support from Engaging Dance Audiences, administered by Dance/USA and made possible with generous funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
