Ralph beat a stripper to death which caused Tony to lash out and hit Ralph, a violation of mafia code. Tony tried to settle things by offering to have a drink with Ralph and bury the hatchet, which Ralph denied.

In this scene, Ralph reaches out to Johnny Sack for help. We also see Johnny Sack working behind the scenes to smooth things over for the betterment of business.
