COLUMBUS (Terri Sullivan/Dawn Faugl) -- A Fayette County girl, who was told she couldn't show her chickens at the county fair, is now at the Ohio State Fair.
ABC 6/FOX 28 first brought you the story of 10-year-old Paighten Reed a few weeks ago. A dispute over a paperwork problem kept her out of the county's fair. The story ruffled the feathers of many viewers, along with the State Agriculture Department, who then offered her space at the Ohio State Fair.
Paighten says she is thrilled. "It's very, very exciting," she said. "I'm proud that I did all that work and I finally get to show them off."
The girl's father, Jeff Reed, says he is amazed by all the support. "We had no idea we had this much support," said Reed. "But everyone got together and helped us."
The chickens will be shown at the Fair Thursday and Friday.
