The Haunted Tower - Horror Stories with Rain Sounds
The old tower had loomed over the village for as long as anyone could remember. Weathered by centuries of wind and rain, it stood isolated on a cliff that overlooked the sea. No one knew who had built it or why, but stories of strange happenings had passed down through generations. The villagers kept their distance, claiming that it was cursed, a place where the veil between the living and the dead was thin.
Leila had heard the stories all her life. When she was a child, her grandmother had warned her never to go near the tower. "It's not just the ghosts, my dear," she had said, her voice hushed. "It's what they want."
But Leila wasn’t afraid of stories. Now in her twenties, she was drawn to the tower's mystery. Something about it called to her, pulling her like a magnet. Her fascination deepened when she found an old journal in her attic. The handwriting was her grandmother's, filled with entries about the tower, the strange things she had seen, and the things she dared not mention aloud.
One crisp autumn evening, Leila decided to explore the tower. She had to know what was inside, what secrets it held. She brought only a flashlight and the journal, hoping it would guide her through whatever she might find. The wind howled as she made her way up the rocky path to the cliff. The tower loomed larger with each step, a monolith of cold stone against the darkening sky.
The heavy wooden door creaked open with surprising ease. Inside, the air was musty, the scent of decay mingling with salt from the sea. The walls were lined with old tapestries, their patterns faded beyond recognition. Dust-covered furniture lay strewn about, and cobwebs clung to every surface.
As Leila ventured further in, the sound of the wind outside faded, replaced by an eerie silence. The journal mentioned a spiral staircase that led to the top, so she followed its directions carefully, her flashlight beam slicing through the dark. The steps groaned under her weight, each one echoing in the hollow structure.
