Terence Crawford mauled Jeff Horn on Saturday night in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Arena. Crawford scored a ninth-round TKO victory over Horn to claim the WBO welterweight title. It was his third in as many weight classes.
Crawford was cautious in the first 2.5 rounds as he learned Horn's awkward timing. Midway through the third, Crawford starting letting powerful punches fly. He hurt Horn to the body on a number of occasions. Over the course of the middle portions of the fight, Crawford wore Horn down.
Harder punches to the head and body landed more frequently and by the eighth round, it was just a matter of time before Horn was going to be finished. Crawford nearly dropped him at the bell in the eighth with a stiff and straight left hand. In the ninth, Crawford scored a knockdown and finished the deal seconds after Horn got to his feet.
