Is broccoli good for you? Do you "need to eat your broccoli?"
What would a plant-based diet look like without modifying plants from their natural form...
Broccoli, cabbage, brussels, cauliflower...all from this little plant (that many consider a weed) and would have never been eaten in human history until selective breeding them (~100 years ago in the US).
Same thing we've done with most plant foods.
Domestic blueberries are 2X the size of wild ones. Wild avocados have a couple of millimeters of edible flesh...max. Same for wild olives.
Wild bananas are so full of seeds, they're barely edible, but we've bred out their ability to make seeds (modern bananas are genetic clones).
It's fair to say you don't have to eat your broccoli.
Is broccoli healthy?
If it prevents you from eating worse human invented foods like vegetable oils and refined carbs/sugars, then sure, maybe...because it does come with a "WARNING label" ➡️ [ Ссылка ]
