Music is by Mick Gordon, for the soundtrack to the new Doom, releasing this Friday. I thought I'd celebrate by enjoying a little bit of Brutal Doom.

I'm running GZdoom with various lighting and brightness settings to accommodate visual clarity for recording purposes.

########## DISCLAIMER ##########
1. I feel like this goes without saying but a small percentage of people have surprised me. Just because the game uses Brutal Doom does NOT mean it isn't "old Doom" ... It's a mod. If the use of something as superfluous as aiming down sights or increased gore is really a problem for you, and you're going to split hairs and say Doom with a mod that is incredibly feasible on older hardware (the gibs etc, utilize the gibthrow command from Hexen, a game that is also quite old.) is NOT old Doom, then there is no helping you.

2. There is a reason that Brutal Doom is being used here. Despite the fact that this is STILL OLD DOOM with a MOD, said mod is partly the inspiration for the way 2016 Doom panned out- although there is some false nostalgia there, Brutal Doom is also widely accepted by most, even some old devs from Id, as a great modern take on the original Doom. The style Brutal Doom adds is very similar to Doom 2016, and it is being USED here to show how well the music does indeed fit. This is a showcase of basically Doom 2016 in the "old style."

3. Many comenters keep saying "It'd be so much better at 1.5 speed" etc etc... And although I agree in some ways and many are civil about it, the ones I've removed are idiotic, and I'll address them here.

- Yeah. There is E1M1... And also samples of Slayer and other thrash metal in Doom. There's also a TON of slow songs. E1M2. Legit right the fuck after E1M1. E1M3? Fuck, most of Episode 1 isn't SUPER FAST. There's also tons of CHEESY goofy songs as well. I love them all, but I don't get when it got popular to forget and act as though everything about the original Doom was "SO FAST YOU BEGAN BLEEDING OUT YOUR EYE SOCKETS." It's simply not true.

This was difficult to pull off in terms of good gameplay- as It was a one-take while I played the music in the background. I didn't add it later. Sadly, some key moments that timed perfectly in prior attempts didn't pan out here, but I still thought this was a satisfying run. This obviously is not meant to be a thorough run either, and although things like cheating using Zdoom-jump to vault into the secret outdoor area of E1M2 irks me, the music pushed me to go as fast and show as much carnage as I could. and If I felt one part sucked, I had to start all over, as I've got no good editing software loaded on this current machine.

....I wish that fucking assault rifle didn't clip up top to the chainsaw find. Fucking damn it. Had to suck it up because the other variables worked out better than other attempts.
