FADA LAPSI
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
FOR FADA LAPSI:
• 1 Cup Daliya (broken wheat)
• ½ Cup Ghee
• 2 Pods Cardamom
• ¼ Tsp Cardamom Powder
• 2 Tbsp Almonds
• 2 Tbsp Raisins
• Few Strands of Kesar
• ½ + ¼ Cup Jaggery
• 3 ½ Cup Water (hot)
METHOD:
FOR FADA LAPSI:
• Take ghee in a heavy bottom kadhai, and add cardamom pods and daliya.
• Roast daliya till golden brown on a slow flame.
• Now add 3 cups of hot water and allow it to cook covered on a slow flame till daliya gets cooked properly.
• Add jaggery, nuts, Kesar, and cardamom powder and rest ½ cup hot water and allow it to simmer on slow flame till ghee releases.
• Serve hot lapsi and garnish it with nuts and silver varakh.
NOTE:
• If required than, can add some more water. For making it instantly, can even pressure cook it till 4 whistles traditionally it is made with jaggery but can replace it with sugar as well.
