In today's video, Maury compares the Martin D-41 vs D-42 vs D-45. When it comes to the Standard Series of Martin Guitars, the 40s are the cream of the crop. The Martin D-41, D-42 and D-45 are all extremely similar by design. The D-45 has Abalone pearl on the top and back. The Martin D-42 is adorned with abalone on the top and "fretinsula" and is easily recognized for having snowflake inlays. The D-41 borrows the D-45 Hexagon fretboard inlay, but only has pearl on the top - not the back. ALL three of these guitars - the D-41, D-42 and D-45 now have forward-shifted scalloped bracing, since the standard series was "Reimagined" for 2018 (and forward). The WILD CARD: this D-45 is wearing Martin Titanium strings. The other 2 have Phosphor Bronze Authentic Acoustics. That WILL make a difference. Which one do YOU prefer & why?
