This animatic took a lot of storyboarding and re-storyboarding. I also had to design the environment and costumes to explain the witchy context since it's not something from the podcast.
The character designs are as cartoony and simple as possible. Tom's cloak in particular was difficult to design in an easily legible manner, and his design is inspired by Dexter from Dexter's Lab's glasses and Grim from Grim Adventures. The way Stephen poses in the last few seconds is a nod to Johnny Bravo.
Tom's outfit is a Lord Dona'Tor reference and Jerod's necklace is a reference to his logo sprite. Jon is basically wearing Newt Scamander's waistcoat and everything without the coat on top, and for some reason it took me a really long time to decide what costume he should wear.
You can't tell in the animatic, but Stephen uses an Apple Pencil as a magic wand.
