Hadith: One of the most profound examples of a supplication taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the du'a (prayer) he made when seeking refuge from distress. It is narrated in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say, 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness and cowardice, from senility and stinginess, and from the burden of debt and from being overpowered by men.'"
Quran: The Quran is replete with verses emphasizing the power of supplication. One such verse is found in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:186): "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me."
This verse assures us of Allah's proximity and His responsiveness to our supplications. It reminds us of the importance of seeking His guidance, help, and blessings through prayers, just as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) exemplified throughout his life.
Incorporating these teachings into our lives, including the Afzal Tareen Wazifa as discussed by Abdul Habib Attari, can deepen our spiritual connection and lead to a more fulfilling and blessed life.
