STORYLINE
FUR FOR REAL IN MILAN
Having fun with fur, designer Vincio Pajaro explains that he uses traditional techniques in making his coats.
Talking during Milan Fashion Week where he was showing his wares, he says that he enjoys mixing things up when he's making clothes:
"I have fun building my coat or dress just like the old artisan used to do. I put together different furs of different colours, with the result of a fabric-looking fur."
Among his collection are creations made from mink and fox fur.
But the Italian-born designer claims that animal rights protestors have no need to be concerned with his collection.
He explains that he uses no wild animals and sticks rigorously to the breeding rules.
As for the cost, Pajaro hopes the current financial climate won't hurt him as he believes fur is more affordable than it used to be, because you can buy a good piece for around 2000 or 3000 Euros.
