The majority leader in the Tennessee House of Representatives, Republican Gerald McCormick of Chattanooga, tells TNReport he's on the whole satisfied about what the GOP supermajority accomplished in 2013. McCormick said he anticipates education reform will be taken up again in earnest in 2014. In the closing hours of the session April 19 a measure died that would have given the state board of education authority to override local school boards that rejected charter school applications the state deemed worthy. That bill seemingly died not so much on its merits but because the House had earlier in the day rejected a Senate-driven Tennessee judicial district overhaul. For more, visit [ Ссылка ]
