Today I am having a look at the newly designed diamond painting pen from Diamond Art Club.
This is the Twist-On Dual-Threaded Premium Drill Pen in Blooming Rose Swirl.(This is the only colour available at the moment)
So what's new?
Well, pretty much everything!
The first noticeable thing is the size of the pen, it's quite a bit shorter than previous pens and it's thicker.
The pen also comes fitted with a Forever Stainless Steel Single Placer Diamond Painting Pen Tip.
These tips are a huge upgrade on the standard nylon/brass pen tips as they are much stronger and harder wearing than the standard tips.
No more wobble and having to pack the tip with tape to fix it.
The thread on these tips is very long, giving a very tight and secure grip.
Both ends of the pen have threaded holes, so you can also add one of Diamond Art Club's stainless steel multiplacers to the other end if you are a multiplacer user.
Because the pen is shorter and thicker, it has a nice weight to it and both ends are shaped the same, so if you switch back and forward from single placer to multiplacer the grip will feel exactly the same.
I bought the pen because I was curious to see what 'Twist-On' and 'Dual-Threaded' meant.
To me, a twist fit would be a quarter turn to lock and a quarter turn to unlock but these tips are simply threaded, which means you have to screw them in to the end to get a tight fit.
So I'd call it a screw fit.
When I saw 'Dual-Threaded', I thought the pen was threaded in a way that two different sizes threads could be used but it looks like they are standard threads.
So the 'Dual-Threaded' simply means that both ends of the pen are threaded.
Just thought I'd mention it because I'm sure that some people will be wondering the same things.
All in all, this is a very nicely made pen that I found very comfortable to hold.
The stainless steel tip is very well made and that extra long thread really makes sure that the tip stays nice and secure.
The fact that the pen is also a bit thicker will probably make it feel more comfortable for people who have problems holding the thinner pens for any length of time.
If Blooming Rose Swirl isn't your thing, I'm sure that Diamond Art Club will be releasing more colours in the future.
You can check out the pens and other accessories on the Diamond Art Club website.
