Cell junctions or intercellular bridges are a class of cellular structures consisting of multiprotein complexes that provide contact or adhesion between neighbouring cells or between a cell and the extracellular matrix in animals. The important cell junctions in animal are tight junctions, adherence junctions, gap junctions, desmosomes, hemidesmos etc.
In this video I have discussed about the molecular structure and functions of Tight Junctions. Tight junctions are composed of mainly occludin, Claudin and Junction adhesion molecules (JAMs) etc. They prevent paracellular transport. I hope this video will help you. If you have any questions please write in the comment section. I will try to solve.
