We are measuring vehicle torsional stiffness. For many reasons...
1. Correlation of the simulation model for predictive handling behavior. (Maybe turn iRacing into an engineering tool…)
2. Understand vehicle to vehicle variation.
3. Understand vehicle stiffness change over multiple races ("flexed out")
This is phase 1 of 3. Higher torsional deflections will be in the later phases and used to investigate non-linear stiffness in the load window measured on track.
