'Peru Declares POLICE State in a Bid to Quell DEADLY Protests'
Peru has declared a 30-day national state of emergency in a bid to quell the violent protests that have rocked the country since the ousting and arrest of President Pedro Castillo.
Just days before the start of the Christmas holidays, Peruvians were banned from gathering and moving freely across the entire country.
The declaration also empowers the police to search people’s homes without permission or judicial order and could impose a nightly curfew.
