DIY project Wood Pen (Turning a Pen) I wanted to try an easy and quick with my lathe. So I decided to make a Wooden Sharpie.
There are commercial aluminium sharpie out there but they are pens, non actual good old sharpie marker as I imagined.
A friend told me that a metal lathe can't make a wooden pen or a handle, that's not true ...
So I decided to make my own Wooden Sharpie.
The wooden handle was recovered from an old piece of beech wood with the addition of cherry wood used for the flooring.
It holds very well and the wood gives a unique feeling of warmth!
Cherry wood is a very nice red hue to made inserts, but when I turned them they appeared lighter than I wanted, I guess because the cherry wood is old…. can it be?
It was a funny project, different from usual, it looks like a small totem hawk !
