One of the world's finest collection of old fire equipment is to be found in Bergen, Norway. Enthusiasts, composed of active and retired firemen, restores and maintains the equipment — both fire engines, pumps, cars, horse drawn carriages, uniforms and a lot of other things with some of the equipment — still in working order — dating back to the 1600s.
This video shows them using some of the historical fire engines from their collection in a staged emergency response, in addition to using period equipment such as smoke diving equipment with a manual pump, a customised Volvo staff car with raised roof to permit firemen wearing their helmets when driving, several ladder trucks and so forth.
The event took place 8 May 2012, and the video is made for the Bergen Brandkorps Historielag (Bergen fire brigade's heritage trust).
