💡 For the safety and reliability of gas-insulated equipment (GIE), operators in the T&D industry need to regularly measure the quality of the insulating SF₆ gas or an alternative gas like nitrogen or g3.

At the 2022 IEEE Trade Show in New Orleans, Alexander Hein, head of product management WEgrid, explained how this device draws a small amount of gas from a compartment and then analyzes it for three parameters:

The entire process takes a few minutes, after which the GA11 pumps the gas back into the GIE or to another secure receptacle. When the hose is connected properly, there is no risk of emissions.

The GA11 is compact and easy to use. It has a telescoping handle and wheels for easy portability from one switchgear to the next. A rugged case protects it from impact and the elements. Power comes from a cord that also charges the gas analyzer's lithium-ion battery.
