And as you're moving forward slowly, turn the steering wheel all the way to the left - to the centre of the road. In a manual transmission push the clutch in and control the brake. In an automatic car, push the transmission selector into neutral and control the brake. Allow the car to roll backward until the steer tire rests on the curb. Put the transmission into a forward gear in a manual car, into park in an automatic. Apply the parking brake and turnoff the engine.
