Hundreds and thousands of Rohingya refugee are facing ethnic-cleansing in Myanmar and fleeing to Bangladesh. The crisis is unprecedented and massive by the sheer number of people. But these people are not just numbers. To help them, we have to look into the details. Hildegarde speaks from experience of working in the camps.

Ms. Thyberghien has more than 12 years working experience with humanitarian organizations providing basic services in health, WASH, nutrition and food security across Africa and Asia. She has been working in complex contexts, building the capacity of individuals and organizations while strengthening partnerships and relations between organizations, civil society, government and private sector in humanitarian as well as development sector. She has a background in Environmental engineering and is since more than a year the Deputy Country Director of Action Against Hunger in charge of programs in Bangladesh. She has got some hands-on experience of working in the Rohingya camps in the South-East of Bangladesh recently.
