Battlefield 2042 is a first-person shooter, developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the twelfth main installment in the Battlefield series and was released on November 19, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Unlike previous games in the series, Battlefield 2042 is solely multiplayer and does not have a single-player campaign. It features support for cross-platform play, a first in the series. Battlefield 2042 received mixed reviews from critics and a negative reception from players for its technical issues, lack of features, and certain changes to the gameplay. The game failed to meet the sales expectations of Electronic Arts.


The series features a particular focus on large maps, teamwork and vehicle warfare. The PC games in the series are mainly focused on online multiplayer.

Where so many of the best FPS games are all about twitchy action, Battlefield is at its best when movement is steady and considered. One of the Battlefield games that seemed to take the franchise to the next level was Battlefield 3. The game had one of the best campaign modes in the franchise, with the story allowing players to step into the roles of a variety of soldiers, as well as including some fantastic missions in Paris and in New York City

The main complaint you'll hear is that All-Out-Warfare doesn't look like a battlefield; there is very little strategy or team play. So if you're buying the game to play All-Out-Warfare in its current state, we don't think Battlefield 2042 is worth it.

Battlefield V is not exactly a bad game but at least it's not the worst in the family tree. It has by far the best graphics of any Battlefield game to date but where it suffered from was presentation and gameplay. Granted, Battlefield V had big shoes to fill as it came after the successful and gritty Battlefield 1.

Major Improvements to new map Renewal

The release of Battlefield 2042’s season 2 brought with it a brand new map. Much of this first update to season 2 involves ironing out the cracks of new map Renewal to make matches and gameplay a much smoother experience.
Whole sections of Renewal have been taken out to reduce distance between objectives and promote close quarters combat in a greater capacity. Terrain and path’s have also been reworked to make it easier for vehicles to travel around. As well as these changes, additional walls and cover support have also been added in for greater protection from incoming bullets and attacks.
