The floating musical beauty that has captured the attention of the world is the brainchild of artist and sculptor, Livio De Marchi. The artist is recognised for his floating works in Italy for decades now. One can see the boat sailing near the Accademia Bridge in Venice. It took the maker several months to create this floating musical masterpiece. Measuring 12 m (length) and 4 m (width), the boat was launched for the first time in the canals of Venice last week. The boat, named Noah's Violin, brings a message of hope amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In its hour-long journey, the floating musical concert grabbed the attention from all over Venice, from one and all. The journey concluded at the church of La Salute, which is an iconic building in the city. It was built as an offering to the Virgin Mary for protecting Venice from a deadly plague in 1630. Roberto Paladini, director of the Venice branch of the National Confederation of Artisans (CNA), said, "Supporting and giving visibility to artisans is the only way to keep Venice a living city." The cellist onboard, Tiziana Gasparoni, said that as a Venetian and a musician, it was his most moving life experience. The Venice Development Consortium is supporting the floating artwork project as they want to celebrate the city’s historic connection to music. Since its launch, the boat has been seen sailing around Venice canals.
