A guide to making a ESPHome based battery powered voice remote for home assistant. Uses an Adafruit Feather v2 ESP32 board, INMP441 mic, MAX98357a dac/amp battery, and button. Very low power consumption with a voltage sensor to track battery charge. Status LED indicates wifi connection and voice assistant status. Provides a reasonable, battery powered, alternative to the M5stack Atom Echo.
