In the Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality in North West there's a call for the intervention of law enforcement to fight widespread vandalism of water infrastructure. Residents in the Lichtenburg-based Ditsobotla Municipality have been without water for weeks, reportedly due to vandalism of water infrastructure. A 180-metre-long copper cable was stolen on Tuesday at the Lichtenburg Water Works, deepening the water woes in Ditsobotla.
