Gangnam-daero is a 10-lane road which locates at the boundary between Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu. When Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu were a single district, it was in the center of Gangnam-gu. Gangnam Station is also located under the road. It is the center of the Gangnam area, with a daily floating population of 130,000 people, centered on Gangnam Station.
Various commercial and business facilities are located along the streets centering on Gangnam Station and Yangjae Station. With a variety of clothing stores and cafes, it is worth calling it the center of culture and fashion in Seoul. Several parks such as Hangang Park, Maljuk Street, and Yangjae Citizen's Forest are also located along this road.
Gangnam means the south of Han river: 'Gang'(Eng. River) + 'Nam'(Eng. South), and Daero means boulevard: 'Dae'(Eng. Big, Large) + 'Ro'(Eng. Road).
