When a aspirant clears UPSC civil services exam and get selected for IPS then he/she will be sent to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy for his training, during his entire training it is expected from him to wear a uniform and in that uniform you will see a special batch in maroon colour with 71RR, 72RR, 73RR etc written in that batch, would you ever wonder what is that? Well in this video I have explained what is rr in ips probationers uniform. Actually rr full form is regular recruit which means probationers who are under training at svpnpa are recruited directly through UPSC and not by promotion from state police service, in other words rr is used in ips uniform to distinguish them from state police service (sps) promotee.
