Rustem Umerov made the remark during a televised conference in Kyiv featuring a number of Ukrainian ministers a day after Russia’s invasion reached its two-year mark. Ukraine, which is struggling with an ammunition shortage, has for months said that western aid is slow to arrive and this has real consequences in its fight against Russia, including loss of life. Umerov argued that this put Ukraine at a disadvantage 'in the mathematics of war' against Russia, which is increasingly building a war economy.
