(9 Dec 2016) A museum dedicated to all things marijuana was inaugurated in Montevideo Thursday.
The museum is the creation of Eduardo Blasina who, two years ago, had the idea of capitalizing on the global interest generated by Uruguay becoming the first country in the world to legalize pot trade.
Uruguay legalised the cultivation and sale of marijuana in 2013 in a bid to create the world's first government-regulated national marketplace for pot.
The goal was to fight rising homicide and crime rates associated with drug trafficking in the South American country.
