Hello everyone,
I've been a little bit busy and so there was a delay in the making/releasing of this video. Since the updates to barbarians,... 5 range 2h base weapon of choice(s) were no longer able to reach 4FPA. This somewhat forced us to have max possible range of 3 from weapons with dual wield, a direction I noticed upon returning to this age old game. It was the last nail in the coffin for 2handers. I hope there wouldn't be more. When considering a Players 8 viable Barbarian, range is a factor which Blizzard took away somewhat.

Since then we have seen a myriad of weapon choices for the barbarian. Old and new discussions have surfaced. But what is the best? It is a hard question to answer. What if you wanted to maximize a barbarian to do barbaric things? What is the path? Anything less than players 8 any combination may work.

Goal:
1. Players 8
2. Range and weapon flexibility
3. No repair vs. repair weapons.
4. Maintain 4FPA where feasible as much as possible.
5. AOE, Single Target, Boss efficiency via WW, Berserk, Frenzy
6. High Crushing Blow
7. Area flexibility meaning you can go anywhere.

Plan:
-Sword spec(PB, CB, ZWEIHANDER) - Grief, Death, Last Wish, Azurewrath(Wraiths+/Undeads). I just miss the cool look.
*Sword has higher durability compared to Berserker Axes but that still shouldn't be a problem.
-Brand rune word bow the for +Amplify damage.
-Maxed BO to take some beating as we attempt to proc +Amp Dmg.
(I may not have high HP but this is only PVM not PVP and I can handle not dying.)
-Figure IAS BP's for each weapon base.

Setup:
A2 Merc: Might
2x Grief PB(Chaos Sanctuary),
2x Grief Zweihander(3 range, 50 durability)
2x Death-Either A1 or A2 Merc to either proc decrepify/amplify damage where applicable.
4-5FPA can be maintained through gear even with decrepify.

A1 Merc: Faith
2h eDeath Colossus Blade or
2x EDeath(boss kill-place wep in cube) is possible + any sword combination desired even with decrepify.
100% Crushing blow + 100%+ Deadly Strike
Death+Grief


Key items for players 8:
-Guillaume's Face
(35% Crushing Blow, 15% Deadly Strike, 30% FHR)
-Gore Riders
(15% Crushing Blow, 15% Deadly Strike, 10% Open wounds)
-Highlord's Wrath
(30%+ Deadly Strike, 20% IAS, LR, +skill)

-Ettin/Berserker Axes:
Death + Beast, Grief + Beast, 2x Death , 2x Grief, EBoTD,..

-War Spikes:
2x Death

-2x Death = alternative. (Purely heavy hitting style weapon)
Pros:
100% Crit hit = Grief non crit. If Grief hits crit - It will pull ahead in DPS
100% Crushing blow can be achieved which is good for bosses.

CON:
Lack of IAS. Can be difficult to gear for all situations in which case to expand upon that will be Beast+Death.

Grief
Pros:
Mathematically,..+340-400(!) without min/max damage range.
Superior berserk damage due to flat damage of weapon and no damage range.
20% Deadly strike
%dmg to demons per level(!)
+lvl 15 Venom proc (complimentary elemental damage)
+(-20-25% poison resist) = further compliments +Venom
+Ignore target defense
-25% Target defense
Compliments crushing blow when monster/boss health is LOW nicely.
Versatile
...As you can see it is meant to have HIGH hit chance and deal MENACING dmg.

Cons:
No CB.

Weapon combo suggestion:
Boss time:
Grief + Death(cube or not is fine when the time comes)
Death + Death

Anything:
Grief + Death
Grief + Grief

Merc:
I've tested all and it comes down to the following which will dictate what gear you will wear:
dmg/dmg(pride)/debuff(reaper-decrepify(bosses)-A2)
dmg/speed(faith-A1)

A1 Faith - GFACE(15%IAS) LOH(20% IAS), NOS(10%IAS/LIFELEECH/SLOW), HWL(20%IAS), RAVEN
Total IAS: 65% - 4-5 FPA even under Decrepify(common in Chaos Sanctuary EXCEPT when Diablo spawn) w/any combination grief or death base.
-My current setup for Zwei/Colossus blade usage under Decrepify

A2 MERC(reaper/pride)
GFACE(cham or UM(resist=need raven ring)15% ias jewel), free choice of ring and belt.
4-5FPA with Grief anywhere except when under Decrepify/HF in which case a PB is desired.

Note:
-What if we take a physical bowazon setup concept and use it on the Barb?
-Berserk is quite insane with the updated synergies.
-I'd love to do a Death RW video show-case but have others to look forward to to contribute to the community as an early D2 LOD player and PVP'ist (i have not so since release but have in the past). I want to retain some lost knowledge and the LOD vibe.
