Geek Speak:
As you've probably noticed, we're playing on top of a drum loop here to try and get a little closer to the original record. Those drums are sequenced on Pro Tools and coming from Native Instruments Battery. There are also those creepy intro sounds which are coming from Kontakt.
The Drums were recorded with the Roland TD-11 triggering Native Instruments Abbey Road drums.
The snare drum is a vintage Ludwig 402 miked with an Audio Technica AT-4033 through an API preamp into a DBX 560A compressor.
The Bass is a Music Man Sterling. It's going through a Universal Audio 4710-D. Then it's going through CLA Bass and a bunch of Waves plugins.
Andy's G&L S-style guitar is going through the Line 6 Helix.
Phil's Music Man Cutlass guitar is going through a VHT GP3 preamp with a Line 6 HXFX providing the Ownhammer IR.
The Vocal mic is an Audio Technica ATM-510 processed with various Waves Plugins. Emily's mic is going through a Vintech 573 preamp and a DBX 560A compressor.
We're all using Audio Technica Headphones being fed from the MOTU 1248 interface.
I utilized the Waves CLA Mixhub plugin a lot while mixing this. I really liked driving the mic knob to get everything to distort a bit. Way cool!
For cameras, we used Zoom Q2n's. Video was edited with Adobe Premiere.
