An artist, a zoo and a gallery came together to raise money for endangered animals. Artist David Derrick sculpted Sundance, a redtailed hawk, live in the J. Willott Gallery as the main event for a fundraiser for the Living Desert Zoo in Palm Desert. Once completed the sculpture began another journey as ancient as the Romans and the Greeks called the lost wax method which would transform clay into metal bronze.
