What is AcroYoga?

The word acroyoga comes from the Greek root word akros meaning high and Sanskrit word yoga meaning union; so together AcroYoga means high union.

AcroYoga combines both dynamic and therapeutic sequences from performance acrobatics and dance. Practitioners can follow set flows to the point they become familiar with the practice and can then work on improvisation.

AcroYoga actively encourages inversions in particular handstands.

Acro Yoga blends the wisdom of Yoga with the dynamic power of acrobatics. It is a physical practice which combines yoga, acrobatics and Thai massage. The aerial part revolves around one partner [the base] supporting the other [the flyer] in flying through the air in a sequenced series of yoga postures.
