This month our featured drink is the Black Manhattan. This updated rift on the original is said to have been created in the San Fransisco bar Bourbon & Branch. In this recipe, the sweet vermouth from the original is replaced by Amaro, and in this case, we're featuring Cynar. An amaro is a bittersweet aperitif made from a blend of herbs and spices and Cynar happens to get its name from the predominant use of Artichoke in the blend. If you're a Manhattan fan we think you'll like this curve ball. It's a little more earthy and herbaceous, perfect for early spring.
