Welcome to our travel guide series on the gorgeous Iceland Ring Road! We are currently in the midst of an Iceland Ring Road Trip with a few of our friends going around the entire island nation of Iceland! Ring Road is the name for the highway that runs the full circumference of the country and takes you to almost all the high points on one long, stunning, stretch of pavement.
In this Iceland Ring Road Guide, we begin our week-long road trip around Iceland, starting in North Iceland. We explore Rauðhólar Pseudocraters, Goðafoss waterfall and Aldeyjarfoss waterfall and that’s just in the first 24 hours!
We continue driving to Lake Mývatn where we wondered through the Dimmuborgir lava fields and explore the Grjótagjá Lava Cave. Iceland’s Ring Road is FULL of incredible scenery and must-see places unlike anything else in the world.
We rounded out the first part of our Ring Road trip with a failed attempt at whale watching. Even with no whales the boat ride was serene and breathtaking – just like everything else in Iceland! As always, we’ll see you in our next video as we Keep Going Places!
